Description
Xenon is used for filling of glow lamps, powerful gas-discharge and pulsed sources of light (the high atomic mass of gas in flasks of lamps interferes with evaporation of a volfrvm from an incandescence thread surface).
From Greek — the stranger. U. Ramzayem and M. Traversom who have subjected to slow evaporation a liquid air is opened in 1898 by the English researchers and a spectroscopic method investigated its most hardly volatile fractions. Xenon has been found as impurity to krypton what its name is connected with. Xenon — very rare element. Under normal conditions 1000 m3 of air contain about 87 cm3 of xenon.
