Field spars are a widespread group of the rock-forming minerals divided into separate subgroups depending on an origin and structure: plagioclases, potassium and potassium-barium.
All types of field spars are purely colourless, however attendees of impurity in them can paint stones in different colors. Are peculiar to orthoclases pink, white, red and yellow tone. Labrador is painted in blue-black colors, however the iridescent outflow inherent in a stone, includes a set of shades.

The chemical composition of the stones entering into group of field spars differs, however physical properties are similar. Formation of twinning crystals, a perfect spaynost, glass or nacreous gloss, pronounced effect of an irisation and an average value of hardness is inherent in all representatives of this group.
