Beam - the type of shaped metal rolling representing a horizontal or inclined bar. Material for production - the carbonaceous or low-alloyed steel. The beam is divided by numbers, number at the same time designates distance between external sides of a channel (in centimeters). Sides of a beam can settle down or in parallel each other (P), or with a bias of internal sides (At).
Beams happen:
- - dvutavrovy steel special beams;
- - dvutavrovy beams from the carbonaceous and low-alloyed steel;
- - steel hot-rolled beams.
The most widespread kind of a beam - dvutavrovy (English - I-beam, H-beam, H-shaped), in section reminds a letter N. Scope of application - construction: construction bearing and overlappings with high load of them, and also industrial and warehouse buildings, stadiums, bridges, etc. Also the beam is often used when reinforcing mine trunks, in automotive industry and car building.
Other kind of a beam - odnotavrovy (from Greek??? - R), in section reminds, respectively, a letter T. It is used at construction of minor designs.
There are also special beams (monorail) - the dvutavrovy beams having a bias of internal sides. Are necessary during creation of suspended ways. Are designated by a letter M: 24M, 18M. GOST of beams of spetsilny M - 19425-74.
The low-alloyed beam is a kind of shaped metal rolling. Such beam is executed in the form of a horizontal or inclined bar. It is made from the low-alloyed steel. Beam sides in parallel or with a bias of internal sides are located.
It is applied in construction at construction of the bearing designs and overlappings to transfer freight to a beam, and, besides, at construction of industrial and warehouse buildings, stadiums, bridges.
When reinforcing mine trunks, in automotive industry and car building the beam is also widely used.
