Driving drums are a drum of the driving mechanism which carries out transfer of traction effort to the element bearing freight in this case frictional (the traction effort is transferred by means of friction). The driving drum which via the transmission gear is connected with the engine sets a tape, that is a traction element in motion.
Bypass drums is established on the conveyor in those places where there are tape excesses. In a drum there can be a departure of a shaft of the required length that depends on loading of a bypass drum and its location.
Driving and bypass drums are issued with a diameter of 159 - 1250 mm and 500 - 3550 mm long.
