Stearic acid

Acid stearin - the substance consisting of crystals of white color, insoluble in water and soluble in ethyl oxide. Has appearance of powder, flakes or scales of color, white with a cream shade. Flavourless stearin acid, is not toxic, is not poisonous, stable at storage.

Stearin acid is widely applied in chemical, petrochemical, paper, rubber and other industries. It is applied to receiving alcohols, in technological processes of production of pastes, emulsions, monomers and stabilizers. Also it is used as a component of plastic greasings. The cosmetic industry applies as a component of various creams and ointments. The textile industry applies stearin acid to processing of skin. Stearin acid is used in the food industry at production of margarine, at addition of fats in dough as a cream basis of pastries.
