The additive preservative Sodium benzoate (E211) is applied in the food industry to production of carbonated and not carbonated drinks, syrups, cider, salty margarine, olives, sauces, seasonings, jelly, jams, confitures, stuffings for pies and pastries, low - calorie salad gas stations, ready salads, at storage of vegetables.
It is active against yeast, mold and bacteria. It is applied as the food antimicrobic agent in food and drinks for the purpose of increase in their shelf - lifes.
