Description and composition of the product

Sapropels are centuries - old bottom sediments of freshwater reservoirs, formed from the remains of aquatic vegetation, living organisms and soil.

The extraction of sapropel is environmentally friendly, avoids siltation of the reservoir and contributes to its rejuvenation.

In Belarus, the total reserves of sapropel are more than 4 billion m3, or more than 1.6 billion tons, calculated as 60% moisture content of the product. The main deposits are located in the Brest, Grodno and Vitebsk regions.

Sapropel is formed under the influence of biochemical, microbiological and mechanical processes and is a complex organomineral complex of substances.
