On fodder advantages a long-term pasturable ryegrass - one of the most valuable cereals. In 100 kg of a grass 21,5 sterns contain. unit and 1,9 kg. a perevarimy protein, and in hay, respectively, - 55,2 and 4,4. High content of soluble sugars - over 20% - allows to silosovat a ryegrass grass without addition of preservatives.
This long-term cereal well grows in conditions of a temperate humid climate with soft winters. Its winter hardiness is low, in particular does not take out snowless winter. Badly transfers a drought, vlagolyubiv, but does not maintain close ground waters and long flooding. Resistance to some mushroom diseases - a rust, mealy dew, spottiness - is also insufficiently high. These and other features of a ryegrass pasturable are considered at selection. One of widespread selection grades is VIK 66 grade.
