The roll press represents a design of besstaninny type and consists of the following main knots: two working rolls with pillows, the loading device, the device of a clip of rolls and protection of a press from an overload, the press drive. The press with the drive and the loading device is grouped on the general frame. Working rolls are established in bearing support and fixed on a frame. One of rolls is fixed not movably, another has a possibility of movement of a certain size at excess of the set effort of pressing. Rolls are connected among themselves to the help of the clamping devices containing previously clamped packages of dish-shaped springs. Clamping devices can be carried out also in the form of hydraulic cylinders (are interchangeable with mechanical).

Placement of clamping devices at some distance above the line of the centers of rolls allowed to lower significantly its dimensions and metal consumption, to simplify control of the set effort of pressing, to provide convenience in operation, to lower requirements to the choice of an installation site of a press, etc. The loading device is supplied with the shiberny gate providing uniform and adjustable supply of furnace charge on rolls. In the drive of a press there are protective elements preventing it breakages at casual overloads.
