Starch I and II of a grade has to have the uniform white color and a smell peculiar to starch (existence of a foreign smell is not allowed). Starch III of a grade can be grayish, without streak and impregnations. In it the subacidic, but not musty smell is allowed.
Owing to high humidity (38 — 52%) crude potato starch is a semi-finished product, and it is processed, receiving such types of finished goods as dry starch, acid-free dextrins, the modified starches, a starched sago, various treacle, glucose.
