Chloride of potassium is the most widespread potash fertilizer. According to GOST 4568 - 95 the 1st grade contains not less than 60% of K2O, the 2nd grade - not less than 58% of K2O and water no more than 0,5% .
Chloride potassium is used generally in agriculture as mineral fertilizer. A part process on caustic potassium, potassium chloride, carbonic potassium, etc. the connections applied in various industries: glass, perfumery, paint and varnish, tanning, pharmaceutical, etc.
It is applied to production of potassium hydroxide by an electrolysis method. It is sometimes applied as additive (E508) to table salt (so - called "salt with the lowered content of sodium").
