The scalpel blade may be fixed or removable of various
shapes and desired size. These blades are so sharp that
it is usually sufficient to support the bare hand on them
to cause a break. They are thin and flat to ensure a
well-cut law. Given the delicate use of this instrument,
the handle of the scalpel is also often coated with
anti-slip material (but non-porous, to facilitate the
sterilization). Lately, like syringes for medical use,
are also used in disposable packaging.
