Pervomaisk sugar

Sugar (sucrose) - the sweet crystal substance emitted mainly from juice of a sugar cane or sugar beet. In the pure (refined) look white sugar, and its crystals are colourless. Brownish coloring of its many grades is explained by impurity of various quantities of molasses - the condensed vegetable juice enveloping crystals.

Sugar - high-calorific food; its power value - apprx. 400 kcal on 100 g. It easily is digested and is easily acquired by an organism, i.e. it is rather concentrated and quickly mobilized power source.

Application. Sugar - important ingredient of various dishes, drinks, bakery and confectionery, sausages. It is added to tea, coffee, cocoa; it is the main component of candies, glazes, creams and ice cream. Sugar is used at conservation of meat, a dressing and in the tobacco industry. It serves as preservative in cookings, jelly and other products from fruits.

Sugar also is important for chemical industry. From it receive thousands of derivatives used in the most different areas, including production of plastic, pharmaceutical preparations, sparkling drinks and the frozen foodstuff.
