State standard specification 23683 - 89 P - 2 paraffin. P - 2 brand paraffin - paraffin of high cleaning, is applied to production of decorative candles, in food, cosmetic, pharmaceutical and light industry. Paraffin is not dissolved in water, but dissolved in the majority of organic solvents: gasoline, air, fat and essential oils. The structure and properties of paraffin depend by nature oil and on a way of receiving these products. Temperature of melting is 45 - 52 °C, temperature of boiling is 350 °C.
