The 1939 German operating kit was released by Aesculap AG, a company specializing in professional medical equipment and instruments.

This is a completely original set used by the Wehrmacht during the Second World War. The compact portable set allowed for medical manipulations right in the field.

The metal container is painted in the color "fieldgrau", which is the main color of the field uniform of the German army from 1907 to 1945. The outer side of the cover bears the Red Cross emblem. On the inside of the cover is a list of the supplied medical instruments. The tools themselves are compactly located in three extendable trays. The set contains:
