Oil Sales

BTG-BTL's fast pyrolysis produces a liquid product from almost any type of ligno-cellulosic biomass. Such pyrolysis oils contain negligible amounts of ash, and have a volumetric energetic density of 5 to 20 times higher than the original biomass.

Pyrolysis oils from biomass are typically red/brown liquids with a pungent odor. They contain fragments of cellulose, hemicelluloses, lignin, and extractives. A wide variety of functional groups (a.o. acids, aldehydes, ketones, carbohydrates, furans, pyrans, aromatics, hydrocarbons) are present in the oil, and several of them can even be present in a single component.
