Minium iron is made by calcinating of limonitovy iron ore or salts of iron in air or oxygen. On reaching the set chemical composition scale is carefully crushed in mills and packed into bags and barrels. In certain cases subject to calcinating very pure hydroxide of iron.
The main scopes of iron minium are:
· Receiving a pigment for production of paints and primers and filling of plastic and rubbers.
· Fireproof structures (impregnations and coverings), fire extinguishing powders.
· Production of a termite.
· Glassmaking.· Polishing of glass and metals.
