Millet was grown up for a long time by inhabitants of the Russian North. They knew that grains of millet give the person strength therefore did of it flour, porridge, beer, kvass, pies, added it to soups and sweet dishes.
Prosyany grains very small. They are cleared of inedible covers which are not digested human body, and grain - millet-dranets or polished millet which much meets on sale more often turns out.
Now millet is eaten less, than several centuries ago: prosyany bread, for example, is widespread mainly among the East people. However the true gourmet at least once in life tried millet ship's biscuits, pies, meatballs, soups and stuffed cabbage with millet. That to all of the known porridge, its taste will be more refined if to mix millet grain with other grain, for example with rice.
