Description
Chemical formula: SNZSNONSOON
Synonym: 2 - hydroxypropionic acid
International name: LACTIC ACID
CAS No: 72 - 17 - 3
Qualification: Imp. China, Pishch.
Appearance: transparent liquid with yellowish shade
Warranty period of storage: 2 years
Packing: canisters, 25 kg
Storage conditions: To store in dry, cool, well aerated place
Lactic acid - whitish, slightly yellowish hygroscopic siropoobrazny liquid with poorly sour odor. It is soluble in water, ethanol, it is bad - in benzene, chloroform and other galogenuglevodoroda. In the presence of mineral acids there is self - etherification of lactic acid to formation of cyclic dilaktid, and also linear polylactides.
Receiving
The industry receives lactic acid (2 - hydroxypropionic acid) hydrolysis of 2 - chloropropionic acid and its salts (100 °C) or lactonitrile with the subsequent formation of ethers which release and hydrolysis leads to quality product. Other ways of receiving lactic acid, for example, propylene oxidation for nitrogen oxides (15 - 20 °C) with aftertreatment of H2SO4 are known; interaction of CH3CHO with WITH (200 °C, 20 MPas).
Application
Lactic acid is applied
• in the food industry, in production of soft drinks, high - boiled sugar masses, fermented milk products, etc.
• in mordant dyeing, in tanning production,
• in fermentative workshops as bactericide, for receiving medicines, plasticizers.
Recently the increasing relevance is acquired by use of lactic acid for synthesis of polylactides - biodegraded (decaying in real time in the nature) the polymers capable to replace synthetic polymers (polyethylene, polypropylene, PET, etc. )
