Native serum and native immunoglobulin were obtained from the blood of horses hyperimmunized with viral antigens of canine distemper, infectious hepatitis, adenovirus and parvovirus enteritis of dogs. The preparations contain antibodies to canine distemper virus in a titer of at least 1: 32 (in RIGA), to adenoviruses (types 1 and 2) of at least 1: 16 (in RTGA) and to parvovirus in a titer of at least 1: 256 (in RTGA) .
Serum and immunoglobulin provide binding and neutralization of viral pathogens and have a therapeutic effect in the initial stage of the disease. With prophylactic use, the level of antibodies in the blood of animals reaches a protective level 12 to 24 hours after subcutaneous or intramuscular administration. Passive immunity lasts up to 15 days. After the specified period, to create active immunity, animals are vaccinated.
Serum with preventive and therapeutic purposes is administered to dogs weighing up to 5 kg in doses of 2.0 cm3 , from 5 to 20 kg - 4.0 cm3, over 20 kg - 6.0 - 8.0 cm3.
