The grid made of such wire can begin to rust in one or two years after the beginning of operation.

But even the Chain-link does not rescue a large amount of zinc on a grid from corrosion if the grid the Chain-link is operated on the coast of the salty sea. In the similar district the Chain-link from the steel wire covered with a polymeric covering is recommended to use a grid. The low-quality polymeric covering has property to burn out on the sun (becomes colourless) and to burst on a frost. But the best producers use a polymeric covering which does not burn out on the sun and maintains up to 35 degrees of a frost. To define quality of a grid the Chain-link with a polymeric covering it is necessary to look at an internal surface of a spiral of which the grid is made. If in this place there are scratches or cuts of a polymeric covering, then it means that the grid low-quality (moisture gets to cuts and the grid quickly rusts under a polymeric covering) and most likely, in one or two years a polymeric covering will burst on a frost and will fade on the sun.
