1. Purpose and conditions of use

Explosion - proof cable glands of the MKV series are Ex - cable glands (GOST 31610.0 - 2014 (IEC60079 - 0: 2011) and are designed to enter flexible cables into explosion - proof equipment. The glands can be used with armored and non - armored cables of round cross - section, as well as cables laid in a pipe or metal hose.

Bushings are produced in versions differing in size and type of connecting thread, type of connected cable.

MKV bushings are manufactured with the type of explosion protection:

from dust ignition by shells "t" GOST IEC (60079 - 31 - 2013).
and are marked with explosion protection 1Ex d IIС Gb / PB Ex d I Mb or Ex tb IIIС Db or 0Ex ia IIC Ga or 1Ex e IIС Gb.

 

The bushings can be used in hazardous zones of classes 1 and 2 according to GOST IEC (60079 - 10 - 1 - 2011), classes 21 and 22 according to GOST IEC (60079 - 10 - 2 - 2011) in accordance with the explosion protection marking. The environment may contain explosive mixtures of gases and vapors with air of categories IIA - IIC, dust atmospheres of categories IIIA - IIIC.

Depending on the type of cable to be inserted, cable glands are divided into types that differ in design:


- to enter an open cable,
- for a cable laid in a pipe,
- for a cable in a metal hose,
- for armored cable with wire armor,
- armored cable with double seals (sealing both the inner and outer sheath of the cable)

 

The bushings are of the climatic version UHL1 in accordance with GOST 15150 - 69 and can be operated at temperatures from minus 60 ° С to plus 90 ° С at atmospheric pressure from 630 to 800 mm Hg. Art. and relative air humidity 95% at 35 ° C and lower temperatures, without moisture condensation.

2. Specifications

2.1. Main technical characteristics of MKV bushings:

Connecting thread type: cylindrical pipe (G) and metric (M).

Cable glands MKV are made of stainless steel 12X18H10T GOST 5632 - 72 or steel St35, St40 GOST 1050 - 80, anti - corrosion coating - zinc. O - rings are made of rubber mixture 3063 TU 38 - 1051082 - 86.

The degree of protection of the bushing shell is IP66 / IP68 in accordance with GOST 14254 - 2015 (IEC 60529: 2013).

Cable glands are manufactured in accordance with table 1.

2.2. Each cable gland comes with a set of rubber seals and associated protective plugs. Protective plugs are used to close unused cable glands for connecting wires up to 22mm in diameter.

2.3. Cable glands provide high mechanical strength of the threaded connection with the sheath of electrical equipment when torque is applied in accordance with the requirements of GOST IEC (60079 - 1 - 2011).

2.4. Cable glands are sealed when a hydraulic pressure of at least 3000 kPa is applied for equipment of group II for 10 s in accordance with the requirements of GOST IEC 60079 - 1 - 2011.

2.5. Cable glands provide reliable fastening of flexible and armored cables in accordance with the requirements of GOST 31610.0 - 2014 (IEC 60079 - 0: 2011).

2.6. Reliability indicators:

4. Device

4.1. Each type of cable gland has executions that differ in the connecting thread and diameter of the cable to be inserted (Table 1).

4.2. The bushing is a metal body inside which there is a sealing sleeve, clamped by a pressure sleeve, a nut (Fig. 1). Sealing and fixing of the cable is performed with a sealing sleeve. The double sealed cable gland seals both the inner and outer sheaths of the armored cable by using an additional grommet.

The bushing body has a metric or cylindrical pipe thread for installation in the shell wall.

5. Ensuring explosion protection

5.1. Explosion protection type "flameproof enclosure" d ".

Explosion - proof design of cable glands is ensured by meeting the requirements of GOST 31610.0 - 2014 (IEC60079 - 0: 2011 and the type of explosion protection "flameproof enclosure" d "according to GOST IEC (60079 - 1 - 2011) due to the implementation of the following design solutions:

- execution of cable glands with thread parameters, dimensions of the sealing sleeve according to GOST IEC (60079 - 1 - 2011)


- ensuring the mechanical strength of cable entry sheaths in accordance with GOST 31610.0 - 2014 (IEC 60079 - 0: 2011)

6. Intended use

6.1. Operating restrictions

6.1.1. The bushings can be used in hazardous zones of classes 1 and 2 according to GOST IEC (60079 - 10 - 1 - 2011), classes 21 and 22 according to GOST IEC (60079 - 10 - 2 - 2011) in accordance with the explosion protection marking.

6.1.2. It is prohibited to operate cable glands that have served their full specified service life.

6.2. Preparing the product for use

6.2.1. Before installation, the input must be inspected, checked


- explosion protection marking
- no mechanical damage
- complete set

 

6.2.2. Disassemble the bushing before installation. Screw the body with the connecting thread into the wall of the shell to be connected up to the stop, not less than five threads of the thread and tighten. Sealing of a threaded connection is allowed to be carried out with anaerobic sealants such as Unigerm - 7, Anaterm 501M.

The use of a seal such as fum tape or linen packing is prohibited.

6.2.3. Installation of the connected cable:


- unscrew the input nut and remove the pressure sleeve and the O - ring
- prepare the connected cable for installation
- screw the necessary pipe fittings onto the nipple of the inlet intended for the pipe laying of the cable
- check the conformity of the O - ring to the connected cable

 

It is forbidden to use a cable gland (with a standard O - ring) that does not correspond to the size of the cable used and the use of O - rings from other manufacturers or made by yourself.

- put the nut, pressure sleeve (or fitting) and the O - ring sequentially on the prepared cable


- insert the prepared cable into the bushing, tighten the nut (or union) of the bushing with the tightening torque specified in the table:

- in cable glands intended for connecting a pipe, tighten the lock nut to prevent the fitting from turning


- when installing armored cable, evenly distribute the wire armor between the cone and the pressure sleeve, crimp the armor and seal the cable with a nut
- check the quality of the cable clamp in the gland for pulling out

 

6.2.4. The installation of the cable gland and the cable entry must be carried out in accordance with the explosion protection marking and in accordance with the regulations governing the use of equipment in hazardous areas.

8. Maintenance

8.1. During operation, the bushings do not require maintenance and are not repairable products.
