The maximum voltage, current and cross - section of the connected conductors are determined by the type of terminal blocks installed in the box. 4. Description of construction
4.1. Structurally, the Ex - box is made in a D16T aluminum alloy. The body of the product is equipped with MKV sealed cable glands for supplying conductors with a diameter of 6 to 17 mm. Mounting and overall dimensions are given in Appendix A. Screw terminal blocks are installed inside the product case for connecting the conductors to be connected.
5. Ensuring explosion protection during operation
Explosion protection of “d” type flameproof enclosure is provided by the following means:
5.1. Electrical elements Ex - boxes are enclosed in a flameproof enclosure that can withstand the explosion pressure and exclude the transfer of combustion to the surrounding explosive atmosphere.
5.2. The explosion resistance and flameproofness of the enclosure meet the requirements for electrical equipment of groups II in accordance with GOST IEC 60079 - 1 - 2013. The enclosure is tested for explosion resistance when manufactured in accordance with the requirements of GOST IEC 60079 - 1 - 2011. The parameters of the flameproof joints of the sensor enclosure comply with the requirements of GOST IEC 60079 - 1 - 2011 for electrical equipment of groups II. The cable gland provides a permanent and strong cable seal in accordance with the requirements of GOST IEC 60079 - 1 - 2011.
5.3. The design of the Ex - box is made in accordance with the general requirements of GOST 31610.0 - 2014 (IEC 60079 - 0: 2011) for electrical equipment located in hazardous areas. Seals and joints of the housing and bushing structure elements ensure the degree of protection according to IP66 / IP68 GOST 14254 2015 (IEC 60529: 2013) "Degrees of protection provided by enclosures (IP Code)".
5.4. The mechanical strength of the Ex - box enclosure meets the requirements of GOST 31610.0 - 2014 (IEC 60079 - 0: 2011) for Group II electrical equipment with a high degree of risk of mechanical damage.
6. Ensuring explosion protection during installation
6.1. Operating and installation conditions Ex - boxes must comply with the conditions set forth in the section "Design and principles of operation" PUE (6th edition, Ch. 7.3), current PTB and PTE, including chapter ESH - 13 "Electrical installations of explosive industries" and other documents operating in the industry where the detector will be used.
6.2. Cable supply to the Ex - box should be performed in strict accordance with the current "Instructions for the installation of electrical equipment for power and lighting networks in explosive zones" VSN332 - 74 and this passport.
6.3. Before mounting the Ex - box, it is necessary to inspect it and pay attention to the integrity of the enclosure and the presence of:

6.4. No cavities, mechanical damage and corrosion are allowed on the explosion - proof surfaces of assemblies and parts being disassembled.
6.5. Carefully seal the cable in the socket of the cable gland with a tightening torque of the cable gland of at least 40 Nm.
7. Placement and installation
7.1. Remove the cover.
7.2. Check the tightness of the cable glands.
7.3. Unscrew the cover with a special key.
7.4. Feed the cable through the cable gland. Free the insulated cable cores from the outer insulation and cut the ends of the inner insulation to a length of 5..8 mm. Connect the cable conductors to the terminals of the terminal block. Tighten the cover with the special cover.
8.1. Ex marking - boxes contains information provided for by GOST 31610.0 - 2014 (IEC 60079 - 0: 2011) and includes the product name, manufacturer information, serial number and date of issue, information about the certification body and the certificate number, special Ex marking, the degree of protection of the shell according to GOST 14254, the range of operating temperatures.
9. Ensuring explosion protection during repair
9.1. Repair of Ex - boxes by the customer, as well as by the organization that performed the installation is FORBIDDEN, in the event of a malfunction, the product is sent for repair to the manufacturer.
10. Maintenance and repair
10.1. When servicing a system that includes Ex - boxes regularly, at least once every 6 months, check the integrity of the cable glands, supplied conductors and the Ex - box housing.
10.2. In case of failure of the Ex - box during the warranty period and for the implementation of post - warranty repairs, contact the manufacturer.
10.3. The manufacturer reserves the right to refuse warranty repairs if the operating rules have been violated, and there are also traces of mechanical impact.
11. Transportation and storage
11.1. Ex - boxes are transported by all types of transport in covered vehicles Conditions during transportation must comply with storage conditions 3 according to GOST 15150 - 69.
11.2. The storage temperature should correspond to storage conditions 2 in accordance with GOST 15150 - 69. The air in the premises should not contain dust, acid and alkali vapors, as well as gases that cause corrosion.
11.3. Ex - the boxes are unpacked in a dry heated room, having stood for at least 6 hours, so that they warm up and dry out. Only then can they be put into operation.
