Instructions for use:
Base requirements
The substrate must be dry, sound, free from dust, dirt, oil stains and looseness. Treat metal parts with a corrosion prevention agent. It is recommended to treat highly absorbent substrates with a deep penetration primer, smooth and weakly absorbing surfaces, to increase the adhesion of the plaster mixture, treat with a roughening primer. When working without priming, moisten the surface with water and wait until it is completely dry.
Installation of beacon profiles
On the surface of the base after 30 cm, apply in small portions the mortar mixture "ETALON", into which press the beacon profiles, aligning them in one plane. The step of the profiles should not exceed the length of the rule.
Installation of protective corner profiles
Apply the "ETALON" mortar mixture in small portions to the inner side of the corner profiles with a step of 30 cm. Install the profiles at the corners in the same plane with the beacon profiles, pressing each one from the middle to the edges.
Preparation of plaster mortar
For 1 kg of dry mix, approximately 0.5 - 0.65 liters of water is added. Stir with a construction mixer until smooth. If necessary, add water until the required consistency is obtained and mix again. Leave for 2 - 3 minutes and mix again.
Plastering mortar
Apply the prepared plaster mortar within 30–35 minutes after mixing to a surface 5–50 mm thick using a plaster falcon or by throwing it with a trowel, then level it with h - using a zigzag motion. After applying and leveling the mixture, as a rule, the surface can be given a structural appearance, for this it is necessary to roll the not yet hardened surface with a relief roller or give some structure with a forming tool.
Surface leveling (trimming)
As soon as the plaster starts to set (approximately 50 - 60 minutes after mixing), level the surface with a metal trapezoidal rule or a wide metal trowel, cutting off the excess and filling in the recesses.
Grouting and smoothing the surface
After 15–20 minutes after cutting, moisten the surface with plenty of water and rub in a circular motion with a hard sponge float. After a short exposure until a matte surface appears (about 10 - 15 minutes after wetting), smooth the plaster with a stainless steel trowel or spatula with wide strokes. Wallpaper can be glued to such a surface. To achieve a glossy surface, it is necessary after 4–5 hours, but no more than a day after the start of application, the plaster should be again abundantly moistened and smoothed again with a metal trowel or a wide spatula.
Recommendations
For fast drying of the plaster, it is necessary to ensure good ventilation and no drafts in the room. It is not allowed to direct the heat gun at the plastered surface. Contaminated containers and tools shorten the use time of the plaster and should be rinsed with water immediately after work
Storage
Store bags with Etalon dry plaster mix in dry rooms.
Shelf life: 12 months in undamaged original packaging.
IMPORTANT: Dry gypsum mixes can be of various colors from white to gray. This is due to the presence of natural impurities in the gypsum stone. The color of the mixture does not affect its characteristics in any way.
