The digital three-component flux-gate magnetometer LEMI-018 is intended for measurements of three components of the Earth's magnetic field and their variations in laboratory and field conditions, and also for precision measurements in magnetic observatories.

Novelty and main advantages

The magnetometer LEMI-018 has unique stability and sensitivity. It is the universal magnetometer for use both in observatories and the basic magnetometer and in field conditions. The magnetometer has the moisture-proof case of the sensor and can operate in the wide range of temperatures independently within 6 months.


Scopes of application
The flux-gate magnetometer can be used for geophysical surveys in fundamental branches of science and for a search of minerals, using a method of sounding of crust in field conditions and as the basic magnetometer in magnetic observatories, and also in temporary points of regime observations.

LEMI-018 vector magnetometer for the precise measurement of Earth's magnetic field and its variations at laboratory and land conditions as well as in geomagnetic observatory is produced on the base of a flux-gate sensor, all three components of which are implemented in the same body. It consists of two units - sensor unit with adjustable or suspended support and electronic unit both connected by long cable. The electronic unit allows automated operation - acquisition, processing, and storage of data about the magnetic field and its variations and their transmission at the request to the external user via the RS232 interface or by FLASH card replacing. Built-in GPS receiver provides satellite synchronization of the internal clock and the coordinates of magnetometer location. It allows organizing the synchronous operation of a set of the magnetometers installed at the studied area. The considerable volume of internal non-volatile memory for data recording and small power consumption permits to use the magnetometer for long-term autonomous measurements in land conditions. Other options, e.g., tilt compensated sensor version, for observatory and laboratory use with leveling facilities, hermetic version etc. exist too (in the figure).
