Devices of arc protection PC40-ARC 01, PD-01M (single-channel) and PC40-ARC 02, PD-02M (two-channel) are intended for the accelerated shutdown of section of the complete distributing devices (CDD) of 6-35 kV at emergence in them electric arc short circuit by impact on introduction and section switches.

As a sensitive element the fiber-optical sensors (FOS) are used. Sensitivity of WATERS to current of arc short circuit on length of WATERS (700±50) mm and at distance (500±50) mm from an arch, makes no more than 500 And.

On the basis of the above-stated devices creation of local arc protection, and also ensuring the centralized control of a condition of protection and integrity of fiber-optical sensors, and also managements on a local network and through discrete entrances is possible. The scheme of arc protection on the basis of our devices can rather just be included in the general system of protection at reconstruction of substation or RP.

The system of arc protection can also be realized, connecting external sensors (dry contact) to discrete entrances of microprocessor PC83 terminals and appointing respectively their action from the menu of the device. At the same time it is necessary to choose the corresponding execution of the terminal with enough discrete entrances.

Main functions of the PC40-ARC device:
• impact on introduction and section switches at emergence of electric arc short circuit;
• formation of an emergency signal at emergence of electric arc short circuit and to lack of a signal of external start-up;
• formation of an emergency signal in the absence of food;
• automatic control of WATERS and formation of an emergency signal at their break;
• indication of a condition of the device.

The relay of the output channel of a product works at simultaneous influence of two external factors:
• impact on optical sensors of the light stream which arose at emergence of the electric arch caused by currents of short circuit in controlled object;
• to giving on a discrete entrance of a signal "PERMISSION" from starting relays of the maximum current or the minimum tension, etc.

The alarm relay closes NZ contact:
• at operation of the relay of one of channels;
• through 3 from later registration of a light signal of an arch on one of WATERS channels and lack of a signal "PERMISSION" (operation of the relay of the output channel is blocked);

Devices of arc protection (protection against arc short circuits) PD-01M (single-channel) and PD-02M (two-channel) are intended for the accelerated shutdown of section of the complete distributing devices (CDD) of 6-10 kV at emergence in them electric arc short circuit by impact on introduction and section switches with a ban of action of APV and AVR.
As a sensitive element the fiber-optical sensors (FOS) are used.

formation of a signal of impact on introduction and section switches with a ban of action of APV and AVR at emergence of electric arc short circuit.

The principle of work is based on simultaneous influence of two external factors:
1) the light stream in WATERS (length to 70 m) arising at emergence of the electric arch caused by currents of short circuit from 500 A in a cell of CREWE;
2) decrease in the feeding tension to value 0,5un or short circuit of the external contact connected to device clips (for example, from the external relay of tension).

Power supply of devices of arc protection of PD-01M/PD-02M is carried out from the built-in stabilized power supply unit providing preservation of operability of the device for the period of not less than 3 from later shutdown of a power line.
