Desinfectants for veterinary science, Paraform
Paraforms (paraformaldehyde, polyoxymethylene, lat. versions of the name: Polyformaldehyd, Polyoximetylen) — the low polymer received by polymerization of formaldehyde (methanal) in acidic environment. Chemical formula paraform — HO(CH2O)nH.
Paraforms are white crystal substance with pungent odor of formalin, it is quite easily dissolved in water or other solvents. Melts at temperature of 120 — 150 °C. Disinfecting action paraform is based on formation of formaldehyde at its heating in hermetically closed tanks.
Mark Paraform With it is applied as desinfectant and has broader range of use. Solution paraform in warm (55 - 60 °C) water with concentration of 1 - 4% livestock farms and poultry farms process. Use for extermination of scabby ticks, viruses, mushrooms, microbes. It is effective and at fight against other parasites.
Antimicrobic and antiparasitic action allows to destroy even especially resistant species of microorganisms (for example, bird flu). For this reason it is applied also in medicine to sterilization of tools.
