Coverings bituminous and polymeric knitting for a waterproofing of a flat roof

In difference from the oxidized bitumen used for production of roofing material and the bituminous built-up materials for production of bituminous and polymeric knitting the technology of modification of bitumen is used by polymers. At the same time bitumen not only remains in a stable natural state, but also gains the properties similar to properties of polymer of the modifier.

As modifiers of bitumen two types of polymers are most widespread: SBS artificial rubber (styrene-butadiene-styrene) and APP plastic (atactic polypropylene).

SBS - the modified bitumens are more elastic and can have fragility temperature to -40 °C, APP - the modified bitumens are more rigid also heatracks and can have softening temperature to +155 °C. APP - the modified materials are ideally suited for hot climate.
