Principle of work

For the accounting of the active and jet electric power of alternating current serve induction one - and three-phase devices, for the accounting of an expense of the electric power of a direct current (electric transport, the electrified railroad) — electrodynamic counters. The speed of mobile part of the device proportional to quantity of the electric power is registered the calculating mechanism.

In the electric counter of induction system the mobile part (an aluminum disk) rotates during electricity consumption which expense is determined by indications of the calculating mechanism. The disk rotates at the expense of the vortex currents induced in it by a magnetic field of the coil of the counter — the magnetic field of vortex currents interacts with a magnetic field of the coil of the counter.

In the electric counter of electronic type alternating current and tension influence solid-state (electronic) elements for creation at the exit of impulses which number is proportional to the measured active energy.
