Boron Carbide

Main Uses：As a rising technical material, boron carbide is one of the hardest artificial abrasives. With Mohs hardness scale 9.36 and microscopic hardness 5400—6300kg/mm², boron carbide takes the third place next to diamond and cubic boron nitride. Owing to its extremely high grinding efficiency, it is applicable to various mechanical processing such as grinding, polishing, drilling of hard alloy and gems. Boron carbide is an ideal substitute for diamond, and can be used in the production of various high-speed cutting tools, highly wear-resisting grinders, spray nozzles, sealed washers, meters, precise elements, etc. Boron carbide is also the main material to produce engineering ceramics, refractory materials, special welding rods, and also the necessary material to produce metallic carbides, boron steel, neutron absorbents in nuclear industry.
