Heat-insulation coating
Purpose
TISS Universal is designed for heat insulation of exterior and interior surfaces in buildings and facilities, pipelines, containers, process equipment, air-conditioning systems and so forth. Coating acts as thermal barrier and is applied on the following surface types: metals, wood, glass, concrete, brickwork, plaster and other building materials.
Surface pre-treatment
For better coating adhesion, remove dirt, rust, dust and previous paint coating. Remove loose coating flakes. The surface must be dry and de-greased. Recommended surface temperature is +5 to +40°С.
Preparation of heat-insulation coating
Before application, carefully agitate coating compound to achieve uniform product. CAUTION!!! When using drill for agitation, mixer rotation speed shall not exceed 300 rpm! Mixing time for a drill is 5-7 minutes; manual mixing time is 7-9 minutes. By consistency, coating shall be similar to cream or yogurt. Where necessary, add 100-500 ml of water per 10 liters of coating compound and mix once more.
Application of heat-insulation coating
It is recommended to apply coating by brush. For large volumes of coating, it is recommended to use paint gun GRACO Mark V or similar. Coating is applied in layer-by-layer fashion. One layer of 0.5 mm thickness completely dries out at room temperature in 24 hours. CAUTION!!!When coating is applied on surface with temperature above 90°С, it boils and sticks to the surface at a higher rate. Therefore, coating may be diluted by water during application on surface with temperature plus 40°С or below. Average material consumption is 0.5 liters per 1 sq.m. at layer thickness 0.5 mm. One layer thickness shall not exceed 0.5 mm! Recommended effective coat thickness is 1.5-2.0 mm.
Safety precautions
TISS Universalheat-insulation coating is environment friendly, non-toxic, it has no harmful volatile organic compounds and is explosion- and fire resistant. Store in tightly sealed containers inside sheltered premises at temperature +5 to +35°С, maximum 5 cycles of freezing/defrosting is allowed. Product may be delivered by any type of transport. Apply the coating in premises with good natural ventilation, or in premises with plenum & exhaust ventilation system.When using sprayer gun, make sure to use respirator, safety goggles and gloves. In case of skin contact, wash it immediately by soapy water. In case of eye contact, wash eyes with copious water. Ask for medical advice, where applicable. Dispose in accordance with prevailing laws and regulations.
Shelf life
Warranty shelf life of heat-insulation coating is 12 months from the date of manufacturing.
