LabradoritaLabradorite, the magmatic rock from family of a gabbro consisting mainly of a plagioclase — the Labrador with insignificant impurity (no more than 5 — 7%) of piroksen and ore minerals. L. often happens coarse-grained dark gray or black color. L., in which crystals of the Labrador in a break or on the polished surface shine, "play" in bright blue-green tones, are very beautiful and are used for facing of buildings, monuments, etc. Fields of L. are available in Canada, the USA, etc. In the USSR — in Ukraine (in the Zhytomyr region at villages the New Baize, the Stone Furnace, Turchinka, Golovino).
