Description:
The principle of action of waterproofing bentonite mats is based on the property of sodium bentonite, which, when fully hydrated, can increase in size by 16 - 18 times. If free space is limited in the presence of water, a stress state forms in the structure of the bentonite gel and the material becomes waterproof.
As a waterproofing material, bentonite mats have many advantages. When working with bentonite mats, there is no need to have special skills and special expensive equipment.
The ability of bentonite to "self - healing" saves from violation of the waterproofing properties of the material. During hydration, bentonite granules are “tightened” by the bentonite gel to the damage site.
Bentonite mats are an environmentally friendly product, which allows them to be used in the waterproofing of ponds for fish farming, while the material is resistant to aggressive environments, such as fertilizers, non - polar liquids (gasoline, diesel fuel, oil, etc. )
