Modification of the cation exchanger and anion exchanger is carried out by special catalysts, the components of which are approved for use in the food industry. As a result of such processing, the material APT - 2 has an exceptionally high catalytic activity in the oxidation of iron and manganese, hydrogen sulfide with an oxidizer dissolved in water - air oxygen,

and also absorbs hardness salts, heavy metals and radionuclides by the ion exchange mechanism. At the same time, the dynamic exchange capacity of APT - 2 is stable and amounts to 1600 mg - eq / l.
APT - 2 effectively removes iron dissolved in water with a concentration of up to 30 mg/l and manganese with a concentration of up to 2 mg/l at pH values below 6.0, low alkalinity and high carbon dioxide content.
