Ammonium chloride (ammonium chloride, sal ammoniac) is a salt of ammonium, white crystal, flavourless slightly hygroscopic powder.
The industry receives chloride of ammonium a transmission of carbon oxide (IV) through solution of ammonia and chloride of sodium. Also ammonium chloride is a by-product by production of soda. The laboratory receives sal ammoniac effective reaction of hydrochloric acid with ammonia solution.
Water solutions of chloride of ammonium owing to hydrolysis have subacidic reaction, at the same time chloride we will well dissolve ammonium in liquid ammonia, when heating to 338 °C it completely breaks up to ammonia (NH3) and chloride hydrogen (HCl).
