Traditionally for lightning protection (lighting protection) traditional rod and hummock lightning rods were used. In the last 10 years active interception rods which not just assume a lightning stroke became popular, but also take away it from the protected object.
We suggest you to get acquainted with the principle of operation of the active FOREND interception rod (AMP).
Its work is carried out at the expense of a potential difference, formed between a storm cloud and the Earth's surface. While intensity of electric field reaches critical value, from the interception rod the advancing category towards a lightning proceeds, and, at emergence of a lightning over the protected territory, it will be surely caught by the lightning rod and taken away to the earth. Thereby protection of buildings, objects and constructions is provided.
The increased reliability of protection belongs to advantages of the lightning rod.The radius of protection of the lightning rod reaching 107 m exceeds the radius of protection of the one-rod / hummock interception rod and radius of protection of a molniyepriyemny grid, thanks to precautionary categories. The zone of protection of lightning rods has the big area of protection and allows to close up to 36 thousand sq.m (action radius to 107 meters) with bigger reliability, than other types of lightning rods. In need of protection of the building of the bigger area it is possible to use 2-3 interception rods and grounding devices which are applied to them.
One more advantage of AMP — profitability. The set price taking into account installation works is twice less, than a grid method. The choice for a grid means need to stack the metal gauze and to do descents with grounding conductors that many times over increases a metal consumption, complicates a design and reduces reliability of system. Besides application of a lightning protection grid does not exclude probability of its break, violation of a contour of grounding turns out to be consequence of what.
The active FOREND interception rod is protected from atmospheric action and is simple in installation. Grounding for AMP simply in production, removes need to dig out trenches on perimeter of the building and to stack grounding conductors that is obligatory in case of use of passive interception rods.
