Active filler for the production of materials with increased wear resistance

Finely dispersed amorphous silicon dioxide Covelos® is used as an active filler in the production of materials with increased wear resistance and strength.

When incorporated into polymers and elastomers, binders for paints and varnishes, chipboard and fiberboard Kovelos®

enhances the strength characteristics of the material. Particles of Kovelos®, evenly distributed throughout the composition, due to their high specific surface area, form a structure in the form of a three - dimensional mesh, which resists the appearance of foci of destruction at the initial stage of their formation. As a result, the strength of the material increases under operational influences in the form of external and internal forces. In addition, the thermal resistance (both fire resistance and frost resistance ) increases and the material's resistance to external effects of aggressive chemicals increases .

The effect of the application is observed even with the introduction of synthetic silica in the amount of 0.5 - 5% by weight of the composition. The maximum concentration of amorphous silicon dioxide in polymeric materials (depending on the chemical composition) can reach 20% .

Kovelos ® is completely safe for the environment and living organisms. The specific surface area of our product is 350 - 400 sq. m / gr. Depending on the brand, the particle size is 5 - 30 microns.

Synthetic amorphous (non - crystalline) silicon dioxide Covelos ® is neutral and chemically resistant to almost all mineral and organic substances existing on our planet, therefore it does not enter into chemical bonds with other components of materials.
